Greg Walsh
A Busy Street
Piano/vocalist/songwriter Greg Walsh normally performs solo, but with the Album "A Busy Street" he is joined with some talented musicians. His style is predominantly blues/rock/soul, but with many influences added for extra flavour.
Walsh's music history spans several decades, many genres and music scenes. He has moved from classical piano to rock bands, to solo synth techno freak, to making a living from the soul/blues/pop piano bar environment where he dissected, analysed and played some of the best songs written over the past century. In the nab songwriting contest he reached the final six with the last song on the album, "Pool of Love".
After the songs were written for the album, Walsh almost abstained from performing live for a year with a period of intense arranging, recording, creating artwork and organising to produce the album "A Busy Street".
The album has a bluesy feel. It has orchestrations ranging from full rich vocals, piano, drums, bass, guitar, Hammond organ, synths, violin, viola, and cello, to the more sparse sound of just vocals, piano and drums.
